REVOLUTION EVO

LOW DOSE RADIATION

Diagnostic images at the right dose add up to great care.  That’s why it’s essential for you to limit your  radiation exposure to just what’s necessary.  To do that, you need a CT that makes it easier for you to lower radiation dose without making it harder to make the right diagnosis. Revolution EVO delivers several dose-lowering capabilities.  Innovative ASiR-V iterative reconstruction option is designed to reduce noise levels, improve low-contrast detectability and reduce radiation dose.

WHAT I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MY MRI…

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

When coming in for a CT scan, it’s best to wear loose, comfortable clothing without any metal, such as zippers, snaps, or underwire bras, as metal can interfere with the quality of the images. In some cases, you may be asked to change into scrubs to ensure a clear scan. You should also remove any jewelry, eyeglasses, hairpins, or other metal accessories before the exam. Our staff will guide you through the preparation process to make sure you’re ready and comfortable for your scan.

WHAT ARE REASONS I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO HAVE A CT SCAN?
  • Allergy to Contrast Dye – Some patients may have a known allergy to iodine-based contrast material used in certain CT scans.

  • Pregnancy – Due to exposure to ionizing radiation, CT scans are typically avoided during pregnancy unless absolutely necessary.

  • Severe Kidney Problems – Contrast dye can affect kidney function, so patients with impaired kidney function may not be eligible for contrast-enhanced scans.

  • Severe Allergic Conditions – Patients with a history of multiple severe allergies may be at higher risk for reactions to contrast and may require premedication or alternative imaging.

HOW LONG DOES A CT SCAN TAKE?

A CT scan is a relatively quick procedure, typically taking between 10 to 30 minutes from start to finish. The actual scanning process usually only takes a few minutes, but additional time may be needed for preparation, such as changing into scrubs, reviewing your medical history, or administering contrast dye if required. If contrast is used, you may need to wait briefly while it circulates through your body. Our team works efficiently to ensure your scan is completed as quickly and comfortably as possible while still capturing high-quality images for accurate diagnosis.

What Does "low dose" radiation ct mean?

The GE Revolution EVO is a type of CT scanner designed to take clear pictures of the inside of your body while using much less radiation than older machines. It has advanced technology that lets it “clean up” the images so doctors can still see everything they need, even though the radiation dose is lower. For you as a patient, this means the scan is safer, especially if you need more than one over time, and it’s also fast, so you may spend less time holding your breath or lying still. In short, the GE Revolution EVO gives your care team high-quality images while keeping your radiation exposure as low as possible.
